Akufo-Addo is a national security threat – Yammin

A former deputy Ashanti Regional Minister, Joseph Yammin has described the President, Nana Akufo Addo as a national security threat.

In his submission on Pure Morning Drive hosted by ‘sit-in host’ Sir Yaw Nimako, the National Democratic Congress(NDC) communicator stated that Ghanaians are not safe if the President denies knowledge of crimes and happenings in the country.

‘‘If there were cases of gunshots, beatings and loss of lives at the registration centers and the head of the national security was not briefed, then we the citizens have a problem having him as president.’’

One person died, leaving two others in critical condition after a renewed clash between some supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) at Nkrankwanta in the Dormaa West District of the Bono Region during the mop exercise of the voter registration exercise.

This was after some gunshots were fired on Saturday, August 8, 2020.

‘’If the deceased person was a member of NPP do you think he (Akufo-Addo) will deny knowledge of it? My worry is why the President will say the registration exercise went on smoothly. It doesn’t add up.’’ ’’ he yelled.

Joseph Yammin appealed to the electorates to come together in what he termed as ‘Communal labour’ and vote against Nana Akuffo- Addo and the NPP in the 2020 elections.

”You can’t seek change and continue to maintain the NPP. If we want development as a country, as a people, then together we must root for change. And that change is voting massively for John Mahama and the NDC.”
