Education, job creation will be my priority, if the mandate is given to me- Obuasi East NDC PC

The Parliamentary Candidate for the NDC in the Obuasi East constituency, within the Ashanti region, Hon. Samuel Aboagye has asserted that education, specifically promotion of tertiary education and job creation to beef up the local economy would be his priority areas if the people gave him the nod to lead the constituency.

He said it’s disgusting to have one tertiary education in Obuasi, not even a main campus, but a branch, upon the large population of Obuasi. According to him, he cannot fathom why it’s so, and he asks if education is not the priority of the so -called leaders in Obuasi.

Hon Samuel Aboagye, has emphatically promised that, Obuasi will get a Nursing Training School under his tenure if he becomes the MP on December 7; adding that towns that have tertiary institutions have really developed very well citing Cape Coast and UDS in Wa as precedent.

He made these disclosures while speaking exclusively with Angel FM when he opined that Obuasi should look for a means of survival when Anglogold Ashanti is no more; he averred that Obuasi was terrible and distressed when AGA stopped operations to do care and maintenance during a period of about five years because AGA had been the backbone of Obuasi in all these years.

According to him, Obuasi is known around the globe as the richest city in Ghana because of the quantum of gold they provide to the international market but the local economy in Obuasi keep retrogressing due to the visionless leadership they have voted for all these years.

He also asserted that, Hon Patrick Boakye Yiadom, the incumbent MP for Obuasi East cannot boast of anything in his three to four in power, unless his uncompleted park, he is doing at Boete hence Obuasi needs someone like him to change the situation in Obuasi.
