Family of the late Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Forestry Commision, Kwadwo Osei Afriyie popularly known as Sir John is appealing to Ghanaians and the media to refrain from spreading false news.
Sir John’s death has been attributed to COVID 19, as the media and general public are reporting same.
However, the family has debunked such stories and has charged Ghanaians to desist from such false rumours.
Kwadwo Osei Afriyie is said to have passed on at the Intensive Care Unit of Korle Bu Teaching Hospital on Wednesday night after testing positive for COVID-19.
The Spokesperson of the family, Kwadwo Owusu in an interview with Kumasi based Pure FM’s Osei Kwadwo said the family is waiting for autopsy report that confirms his Covid-19 status.
“For now we can’t confirm whether our brother died of Covid-19 or not. We know Sir John was fit and strong and he was not sick before he was pronounced dead yesterday. We are patiently waiting for autopsy report” Kwadwo Owusu said.
According to Kwadwo Owusu, the family won’t be surprise if he died of Covid-19; ‘People are always around him because of his goodies and love for people. But now all speculations about his death must cease until the autopsy report is ready’ he added
