Koforidua food vendors refuse to sell to Police officers after an officer died of COVID-19

Food Vendors in the Eastern Regional capital, Koforidua are refusing to sell food to Police Officers in the city due to the fear of contracting Coronavirus (COVID-19).

Angel News reporter, Nana Osei Ampofo, reported from Koforidua that most of the food vendors decided not to engage the Police officers upon hearing that a senior Police Officer has died of the disease.

Reports from the Koforidua indicated that a 55-year-old Chief Inspector died of the disease after falling ill for a few days.

The cause of death was not immediately known until his sample was taken for testing.

Following his death, the COVID-19 team embarked on contact tracing and have taken samples of health officials who came into contact with him.

The fear of contracting the disease has left the food vendors to stop selling to all Police Officers in the area.
