COVID-19: We’ll provide PPE to students – GES

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has promised to provide Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to the final year students when school reopens.

The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the GES, Mr Vincent Ekow Assifuah speaking on “Anopa Bɔfoɔ” on Angel 102.9FM hosted by Captain Smart said, the Education Ministry will ensure that no parent will be allowed to visit their wards in school, hence they will provide them with everything to fight the deadly coronavirus pandemic.

“Those who will go to school at 1:00pm would have to eat before going to school. Each and every student will have 3 nose masks to protect themselves from COVID-19…,” he said

Mr Assifuah added that the Ministry will make sure all the schools have been fumigated before classes start.

“We will fumigate all the schools before reopening. We will fumigate all schools and provide PPEs before they start school,” he said.

The President, Nana Akufo-Addo, during the presentation of the 10th Update on measures the government has taken to curtail the spread of the disease in the country said schools should reopen for final year students to start preparation for their final examinations.
