The Ghana Education Service (GES) is not prepared to allow parents to visit their wards in schools when school re-open after months of closure.
The Head of Public Affairs at the GES speaking on “Anopa Bɔfoɔ” on Angel 102.9FM hosted by Captain Smart, said the Ministry will ensure that they provide all the needs of students who will report to school will be provided.
“We will not allow parents to visit them for the 11 weeks that they will be in school, food will be provided…and all the needs met…,” she said on the show.
The President, Nana Akufo-Addo, during the presentation of the 10th Update on measures the government has taken to curtail the spread of the disease in the country said schools should reopen for final year students to start preparation for their final examinations.
He mentioned that several protocols which are all aimed at stopping the spread of the disease must be followed.
And Twum Ampofo maintain that the Ministry is ready to ensure those protocols when school re-opens.
Veronica buckets, nose masks and other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), she added, will be provided to the students.
Twum-Ampofo also said school will have various holding centres.
