Bishop Obinim still in Police custody after failing to meet bail conditions

The Founder and Leader of the International Godsway Church, Bishop Daniel Obinim is still in jail despite being granted bail by a court.

The man of God was arrested by the Police and charged with forgery of false documents and publication of false news contrary to sections 208 and 159 of the criminal offences Act 1960 (Act 29) which he used against one of his former junior pastors.

Trial Judge, Rosemond Agyire granted him bail after Obinim pleaded not guilty.

His Lawyer, Raphael Opoku Adusei told the court his client is innocent and not fit as he was admitted at the hospital last week.

He was subsequently granted GH¢100,000 with three sureties, one to be justified which left him in the police custody.

Three days after being granted bail, Obinim is still languishing in Police cells because he has failed to meet the bail conditions.

Assin Central Member of Parliament (MP), Kennedy Agyapong, who has been on the head of the man of God claimed on Net 2 TV monitored by that Obinim has been unable to meet the bail conditions.

“No Pastor is ready to go and use his properties as sureties for Obinim that is why he is still in jail…three days are you are still there despite being granted bail…,” Ken Agyapong said on the show.

“If it had been me, Ken Agyapong, some people I do not know from anywhere would have come to my aid and just pay the bail sum and use his money as surety because of my good deeds…,” he added.
