The wife of Deputy National Democratic Congress (NDC) organiser, Chief Biney, Maame Afia Akoto has said that she will be unable to convince her husband, Chief Biney Hamilton to join the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
According to her, this is because she respects the political stance of his husband.
The Deputy MASLOC Boss who is a staunch member of the ruling political party got married to the NDC National Officer at a colourful ceremony in Accra.
Their union was praised by many Ghanaians as a show of political tolerance. Others, particularly known supporters of the NDC condemned the marriage with some arguing that Maame Afia Akoto could convince the husband to join the elephant family.
Months into the marriage, Maame Afia Akoto has responded to this claim.
In an interview on Accra-based Kingdom FM monitored by Angelfmonlinegh.com, she said she lacks the ability to convince her husband to join the ruling party.
“I respect where my husband is and he respects where I am. I can’t force him to join NPP, because I am not the one who made him join NDC”.
