Ghana Football Association Dietitian, Mrs Renee Opare-Otoo has advised footballers they risk facing health and fitness challenges if they do not reduce intake of oil, meat and fatty foods in this COVID-19 period.
In an interview with Accra-based Angel FM, she suggested footballers check their eating habits in order not to jeopardize their physical health.
Mrs Opare-Otoo who serves on the GFA national teams department says “players must ensure regular intake of more fruits, vegetable and proteins with less fats”.
She also suggested clubs in the “Ghana Premier League should hire dietitians as done elsewhere. We do not prioritize the job of nutritionists in this part of the world like it’s done in the other parts.”
She further called on players to consume lets fatty foods so they can be in good health.
