Two people were confirmed dead in fatal accident at Apam Junction on the Kasoa-Cape Coast highway yesterday.
According tot the Police, the accident involved a Daewoo Matiz Taxi with the registration number GX 9436-19 from Mankessim towards Accra and an Articulated truck which was heading to Accra from Takoradi which was carrying some containers.
In an interview with Angel News, Apam District Police Commander, DSP Moses Osakonor indicated that the Taxi Driver veered off his lane and collided with the Articulated Truck.
He explained that after the collision, the Taxi crashed into a gutter .
The Police officer cautioned drivers not to take advantage of the absence of Police officers on the road and drive recklessly.
The bodies have been deposited at the Apam Hospital morgue awaiting autopsy.
The driver of the articulated truck has been arrested assisting investigation.
