The President of the Ghana Drunkards Association, Moses Ogya also known as ‘Moses Dry Bone’ has called on alcoholic beverage producers in the country to consider providing their members with sanitizers and other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to protect themselves against COVID-19.
In an interview on Angel 102.9FM’s Evening News on Wednesday, Moses Dry Bone said his members contribute greatly to the business of alcoholic companies hence the need to also invest in them.
“For more than one month now, we have been to any pub or bar to drink, look at how that has affected the operations of several alcoholic beverage producers…so we ought to be provided with PPE and sanitisers to also protect ourselves…,” he said.
According to him, members of his organisation are very good at observing social distancing so it was the best decision to open spots.
“I have spoken to my Chief of Staff and Volta Regional President and we have ordered that all beer bars do away with tables and chairs so that anyone who buys will have to take away and drink…,” he added.
Moses Dry Bone also thanked the President, Nana Akufo-Addo for considering their interest and lifting the ban.
“I express great thanks to the President, Nana Akufo-Addo and the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) for lifting ban on drinking spots and beer bars in the country,” he said
