COVID-19: Ban on drinking bars, hotels lifted


The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) has lifted the ban placed on hotels, restaurants and various drinking bars.

The lifting of the ban was contained in press release by the GTA.

The restaurants also to ensure “that not more than 25 patrons are admitted to dine at any particular time.”

“All hotels can operate as normal and host their guests, subject to the specified elevated hygiene protocols and social distancing,” the Tourism Authority stated.

The management of these facilities are to ensure that their staff carry out these hygiene protocols which are aimed at stopping the spread of the new coronavirus.

All night clubs must, however, remain closed, the Authority further directed.
