Former player of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Hamza Mohammed has hinted the club is failing to progress due to the fact some managers of the club put their personal interest above that of the club.
The ex-Hearts of Oak and King Faisal midfielder said the Porcupine Warriors cannot boast of same level of development as other big clubs on the African continent because handlers of the club over the years always place their interest first,
Speaking on Kumasi-based Kessben Fm, Hamza Mohammed disclosed that a management member of the club once called him in an international match and told him there’s no way they can stand their opponent let alone winning the game.
He added by saying with this attitude it would be tough for Kotoko to develop as a club and rock shoulders with the big guns on the continent.
He said the like of DR Congo’s side, TP Mazembe is progressing of the right leaders they have.
“Look at TP Mazembe, when did they come but they are developing because they have the right people leading the club,” Hamza admonished.
Hamza Mohammed in his career played for Real Tamale United (RTU), Accra Hearts of Oak King Faisal and Romanian top side, FC Cealaua.
