2020: ‘Ghana will certainly have a new voter’s register’ – John Boadu

The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu, has called on all political parties to brace themselves for a new voters register since according to him, the current register cannot be used to organise any credible elections.

According to John Boadu, the existing register is very much bloated so any results that elections that it will be used to organised can’t be considered a credible one.

“There’s no way current voter register can be used for elections, you cannot use this register and have a credible outcome because it is bloated…” he said during an interview on Okay FM.

Some opposition parties led by the NDC have kicked against the EC’s decision to compile a new voter’s register.

The ruling party, NPP and other parties have also supported the EC’s efforts to compile a new register indicating that the country needs a new register for the 2020 elections.

The NDC had claimed that they believe the President lifted the partial lock down on Accra and Kumasi so

“I can assure you that the consideration that went into the lifting of the lockdown has nothing to do with politics at all…,” he said.
