Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has urged the public to stop stigmitising persons who either tested positive for Coronavirus (COVID-19) or are cured of the disease.
According to the Minister, stigmatising victims is not the way to go as it will hamper the fight against the disease.
Reports that made rounds last week indicated that some members of the public have refused to associate with people whose relatives tested positive for the disease.
There have also been concerns that people who have recovered from the disease will also find it difficult to be re-integrated into society.
Commenting on this on Asempa FM as monitored by Angelfmonlinegh.com, the Minister called on Ghanaians to stop stigmatising COVID-19 victims and others who have recovered from the disease.
” What we vividly discourage in this covid-19 period is stigmatization, it will not help our cause and fight against the disease…,” he said.
