Dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale has said that he did not charge any money before performing at the COVID-19 virtual concert.
The concert which featured Shatta Wale and other artistes was held after the launch of the Ghana COVID-19 App.
Ghanaians have raised concerns about the need for the concert and funfair insisting that the country could have saved the money for other purposes in a time like this.
Commenting on this, Communication Minister, Ursula Owusu said all the artistes performed for free.
This claim of the Minister had been doubted by most Ghanaians.
But Shatta Wale insists the claim of the Minister is true.
“Why do people lie like that? U see me, people have said me I like money, Yes! I like money bad, but when my country needs me to perform in these difficult times, there is no way I will choose money first,” the ‘My Level’ hitmaker noted.
“When they talk about patriotic people I am one of them, I am very patriotic, I like to support my country,” he is quoted by TV3 as saying.
