The Member of Parliament (MP) for Kwabre East Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Francisca Oteng Mensah has donated foot items and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to her constituents.
Items donated to the constituents included 1000 bags of rice, 1000 cooking oil and alcohol-based hand sanitizers.
The donation, the MP said forms part of efforts to support the aged, underprivileged and the vulnerable within the constituency.
“The donation is to send a clear message to Ghanaians about the need for us to unite; stay positive; do not panic; remain strong, and be each other’s keeper in these trying times, which will definitely pass soon,” she added.
Hon. Oteng Mensah used the opportunity to sensitize and educate the people to adhere to the safety protocols in preventing the spread of the diseases and further urge them on the need to stay home to keep their families and loved ones safe.
DONATION OF PPE TO HEALTH DIRECTORATE
Francisca Oteng Mensah who is also the Board Chair for National Youth Authority presented hand sanitizers, gloves, veronica buckets, nose masks, boots, glasses and others to officials at the Kwabre East Health Directorate.
She told the media that the donation forms part of efforts aimed at fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.
She said there are other PPE to be distributed to some other people in the community very soon.
The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Nana Osei Asibey Bonsu thanked the MP for that massive support.
He then promised to make sure the equipment are evenly distributed.
On his part, the Municipal Health Director, Dr. Samuel Somuah also thanked the MP and said it will really help them in fighting against the pandemic.
