The Ghana Police Service has warned Ghanaians to stay away from all beaches during the lock down.
The Police in a statement issued on Sunday said that the beaches in the country are now part of the restricted zones.
“In accordance with the Imposition of Restrictions Act, 2020 (Act 1012) and consequential orders, the public is to note that gathering at any beach in Ghana amounts to an offence”, a statement signed by Superintendent of Police Sheilla Kessie Abayie-Buckman, Director of Public Affairs read.
Dozens of holiday celebrants stormed the Chorkor Beach on Easter Sunday to celebrate Easter.
This has raised lots of concerns among Ghanaians especially as the number of confirmed Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases is on the rise.
