The Accra Regional Joint COVID-19 task force has arrested two people for ignoring the directive on public gathering and holding a birthday party at West Legon.
The party was held to celebrate the birthday of one of the participants despite the imposition of partial lock down as part of efforts to fight the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) disease.
The Police also seized a weapon which they suspect is unauthorised for use.
Reports that reached Angelfmonlinegh.com is that there were at least 15 people at the party as at the time the Police arrived at the scene.
Accra Regional Joint COVID-19 Operating Centre, Chief Superintendent Raymond Adofiam told Accra-based Citi FM that they were able to effect the arrest following a tip off.
“Upon a follow-up, we chanced on this particular one and it happened to be true so they were arrested. They are currently being investigated by the Kwabenya Police,” he said.
