The President of the Angel Group of Companies, Dr Kwaku Oteng has extended his philanthropic work to Accra, this time distributing bottles of Adonko sanitizers and other Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) to hospitals.
The donations which are geared towards fighting the Coronavirus (COVID-19) disease were made at the nation’s premier hospital, Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, 37 Military Hospital and the GPHA Hospital in Tema.
Led by the CEO of Angel Broadcasting Network (ABN), a subsidiary of the Angel Group, Samuel Acheampong, the team donated 1000 bottles of the effective Adonko hand sanitizer, face mask, hand gloves and wipes each to the hospitals for onward distribution to other members of the public to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, Dr Daniel Asare after receiving the items thanked Dr Kwaku Oteng for the gesture and was hopeful it will go a long way to help prevent the spread of the disease in Ghana.
“Initially, these products were expensive, they were cutting people’s throat with it, see how Adonko has come to flood the market with them and that will help us so we can defeat COVID-19 in no time for businesses to flourish and life return to normal once again…,” he said.
Dr Asare further encouraged Adonko Company Limited to ‘continue to be in business even after COVID-19 and produce more health products to support Ghanaians.’
He later presented a letter of appreciation to Dr Kwaku Oteng and the Adonko Company for coming to the aid of the premier hospital in a time like this.
Administrators of the 37 Military Hospital similarly heaped praises on Dr Kwaku Oteng for taking it upon himself to produce products that will help curb the Coronavirus disease.
“The commanders of the Military Hospital really appreciate such a kind gesture and assures Dr Oteng and the Angel Group of Companies that the products will be used judiciously to ensure that the purpose of the donation will be achieved…,” Colonel Josephine Vowotor, Principal Nursing Officer at the facility said.
In Tema, the Samuel Acheampong led Donation Team which also included ace broadcaster, Kwadwo Dickson who is also the General Manager of Angel 102.9FM in Accra made history by becoming the first company outside GPHA to donate to the facility located at Tema, Community One.
Dr Obeng Dompreh who received the donation was full of praise to the team adding that the 1000 pieces of Adonko Sanitizer, boxes of gloves and face masks and tissue paper will be used to achieve the intended purpose.
“Angel Group of Companies is the first company outside GPHA to donate to us…on behalf of Dr Annan Bissiw and the rest of the management team, we are very grateful…,” he said.
Dr Kwaku Oteng has prior to this made donations valued at GHC 800,000 to other medical facilities, individuals and groups in the Ashanti Region.
The GHC 800, 000 worth of items including food stuffs and PPEs distributed in the Ashanti Region went to institutions and groups like Afrancho Hospital, Devine Net Clinic at Kronom, Suntreso Government Hospital, Mamponteng Government Hospital, Kumasi South Hospital, Aboaso Hospital, Kumasi Children’s Home, Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, Kayayes in Kumasi, Kumasi Central Prisons, Manhyia Palace, Ash Regional Directorate of NCCE and Kumasi Center for Collaborative Research (KCCR), Muslim communities and Nkawie Government Hospital.
