E/R: Lower Manya MP supports COVID-19 fight


The Member of Parliament (MP) for Lower Manya Krobo Constituency in the Eastern Region, Hon. Ebenezer Teye-Larbi has donated several medical supplies and items to health workers and communities to help fight the coronavirus (COVID 19) pandemic.

The items include electronic beds, temperature guns, nose masks, hand gloves, gallons of hand sanitizers, veronica buckets, liquid soaps and other forms of soaps.

Health centers that benefited from the donation are Atua Government Hospital, St. Martin de Pores Hospital, Agormanya and Kpone Hospital.

Police stations and other several communities within the Lower Manya area also benefited from the donation.

The items according to the Lower Manya MP ought to be used by frontline workers and the people in the constituency to battle the global pandemic.

Hon Teye-Larbi further entreated his constituents to always ensure they keep their surroundings clean.

“Ghana needs you, you need Ghana and that’s why I’m embarking on this exercise so let us all help to practice hygiene and cleanliness as that is the only way to fight the virus.

“The call has always been on our people to take the protocols serious so our main objective is educate the people to observed and instill discipline with the directives protocols not to get infected with the Virus,” he said.

Dr Adams Mahami, Medical Director of Atua Government Hospital on behalf of the staff thanked the MP for the presentation and promised to make good use of the items given.

“We are most grateful and we promised to make good used of them [items] so that it will benefit the entire municipality and Eastern Region as a whole,” he said.

Lower Manya Krobo has recorded its first case of the deadly disease and the legislator said the donation became necessary as a precautionary measure to forestall the spread of the virus.

Ghana’s current COVID-19 count stands at 214.

Five deaths have been recorded with three recoveries. 49 others are also being treated from home after they were discharged last week.
