The Founder and Leader of the Alabaster International Ministries, Prophet Dr. Kofi Oduro, has taken Telecommunication companies in the country to the cleaners for making data expensive during the lock down.
In a sermon broadcast on Facebook live, the man of God said he cannot fathom why the telcos in the country will not offer free data in a time like this.
“Any telecom company within this time; haven’t you seen we are sharing rice, sanitizers and food; by now you should be saying that, this two weeks lockdown, free data. If you can’t do this, I’m telling you, you will face judgement”, he said in a viral video.
Ghanaians on social media have expressed disgust at the increasing data cost in the country in recent times.
Inhabitants in major cities such as Tema, Kumasi, Accra and Tema are currently on a partial lock down.
The lock down forms part of government’s efforts to contain the spread of the coronavirus disease in the country.
This has forced most Ghanaians to work from home, a situation which has led to an increase in data consumption.
