The President, Nana Akufo-Addo has donated his three month salary into the newly created COVID-19 fund which will care for the needy during the fight against the Coronavirus disease.
Addressing the nation in a late night broadcast, the President said the fund which will be managed by a board of trustees will help the country raise money to assist the needy.
The fund will be managed by the trustees headed by former Attorney General, Sophia Akufo.
The President said as part of efforts to ensure that the fund gets adequate resources to cater for the needs of Ghanaians, he has donated his three months salary – April, May and June to the fund.
The establishment of the fund forms part of the country’s efforts to fight the disease.
