COVID-19: Gov’t shuts VIP section of Kotoka Int’l Airport


The VIP section of the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) has been closed, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced.

The closure, the Ministry in a statement said forms part of efforts by the government to deal with the deadly coronavirus epidemic.

“As part of enhanced measures by the Government of Ghana to contain the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, regrets to announce the temporary closure of the VIP Lounge at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) with effect from Saturday, 21st March, 2020 until further notice…,” a portion of the statement read.

The Ministry has therefore ordered all ambassadors and emissaries to now use the Terminal 3 so they can go through screening.
