The West African Examination Council has suspended the organization of this year’s West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination.
According to WAEC, the decision is a result of the steady increase in the number of coronavirus cases in the sub-region.
Nigeria, Ghana, Sierra Leone, The Gambia, and Liberia are the only countries in West Africa that partake in WAEC’s examination.
All the five countries, save Sierra Leone, have recorded cases of the virus.
