The Ghana Health Service has confirmed that Ghana now has 16 confirmed cases of the Coronavirus epidemic.
The government agency confirmed the rise on its dedicated website on Friday.
The five new cases are all in the Greater Accra Region.
The latest update confirms fears community spreading has begun in Ghana with at least two of the infected persons having no history of travel outside Ghana.
One of the cases is a 29-year-old woman resident of Accra with no history of travel.
Another man, aged 53, who is resident in Tema, also has no history of travel also tested positive
