Former Chairman of Kumasi Asante Kotoko has said the club playing a competitive league game with 10 players could never have happened under his tenure.
The Porcupine Warriors became a laughing stock when in the Ghana Premier League Week 11 against Aduana Stars, the coach decided to begin the match with ten players apparently for superstitious reasons.
But reacting to the news on Accra-based Angel FM Floodlight Sports show hosted by Saddick Adams, Mr Mensah said the was unbelievable for Kotoko to get that low.
“I thought it was a comedy when I heard it. I thought it was a joke because I couldn’t believe it”, he said
“I didn’t know what may have called for this but I have never heard this happen in any top club. I’m not sure they can’t do this in a Champions League game and this is why it is embarrassing”.
“I wouldn’t have let this happen under me and I don’t know why Maxwell I respect so much as a coach but may be he is not in charge of that,” he added.
Meanwhile Kumasi Asante Kotoko beat Bechem United on Friday at the Accra Sports Stadium where they have adopted as their home grounds following the closure of the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
