NPP Primaries: ‘Stranded’ Addai Nimo finally files his nomination forms

Calm has been restored at Asante Mampong in the Ashanti Region as ‘stranded’ former Member of Parliament (MP) of Asante Mampong Constituency, Francis Addai Nimo has submitted his nomination forms to contest Asante Mampong parliamentary seat.

Five persons sustained varied degrees of injuries following violent clashes between NPP party supporters when Addai Nimo’s nomination forms were rejected yesterday, February 19, 2020.

Addai Nimo and his campaign team today February 20, 2020 stormed Asante Mampong party office to summit his forms and they have successfully dome that.

Addai Nimo in an interview with Pure FM’s Ambassador Osei Kwadwo condemned the violent clash which occurred between the supporters of the party.

“I called the Regional Chairman of NPP Chairman Wontumi and General secretary John Boadi and they told me to bring my forms to the regional party office. Later, Chairman Wontumi told me that he has instructed the Constituency executives to accept my nomination forms so I successfully submitted the forms.

“It is so pathetic that supporters of the party were killing themselves yesterday. I condemned that action. We do not entertain violence in our party. I’m appealing to party supporters to comport themselves,” he said.

Addai Nimo however charged NPP Asante Mampong Constituency executives to be neutral to ensure free and fair elections.
