Retired FIFA referee, Alex Quartey has applauded class one referee, Emmanuel Eshun for his outstanding performance during the Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko game last Sunday.
According to the former referee, Eshun stamped his authority on the game and was precise in his decision making.
“Referee Eshun stamped his authority on the game and controlled the game well,” he said on Angel FM’s Floodlight Show hosted by Sports Obama.
Retired Referee Quartey scored Referee Emmanuel Eshun 7.5 (75%) out of 10 due to his amazing performance.
He further added that aside the last minute controversial penalty decision that led to Kotoko’s wining goal, most of his decisions made by the center referee were on point.
Reacting to the penalty decision that led to Kotoko’s victory, he said it wasn’t a penalty but the referee could not be faulted for that decision.
“Kotoko’s penalty was not a foul and hence not a penalty,” he said further.
