‘No Kotoko player receives less than GHC2,500 as Salary’ – PRO


The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Kennedy Boakye Ansah has surprisingly revealed the take-home salary of players of the club.

Few weeks after George Abege who was surplus to requirement left the Porcupine Warriors, Kennedy has unwrapped to the public how much he [Abege] and the old players are paid in terms of Monthly Salary.

Speaking on Angel FM’s Floodlight Sports show hosted by Saddick Adams, he, Kennedy Ansah exclusively confirmed how much each player takes home as salary at the club.

“GHC2,500 is the least amount Asante Kotoko pay its players as monthly salary” he said.

He then stated that ex-player, Abege, who was out of favour at the club was paid an amount of $1,200 which is equivalent to GHC 6,780

“Even before George Abege left he was receiving $1,200 dollars as monthly salary”

The PRO whose actions on Match Day 4 of the ongoing Ghana Premier League at the Baba Yara Stadium against League leaders Berekum Chelsea halted play has been given a five match ban by the Ghana Football Association.

Meanwhile ,Kotoko will travel to play arc rivals, Hearts Of Oak in Week 6 of the Ghana Premier League at the Accra Sports stadium with the hope of securing a win to move them into the top 4 on the league log.
