Ghana’s International Boxing Federation (IBF) lightweight world champion, Richard Oblitey Commey has hinted that he is very optimistic of defending his title against Honduran-American opponent, Teofimo Lopez come Saturday December 14, 2019 at the Madison Square Gardens in New York, USA.
Speaking to the press, the IBF lightweight champion indicated his readiness to defend his title for the second time.
“I won my title in February, and I look forward to defend my title for the second time, my first fight at Madison Square Garden, home of champions. I look forward to facing Teofimo Lopez to prove my worth in the ring. This is going to be one hell of a fight,” Commey expressed.
The hard Ghanaian puncher thereafter added that he is fully ready for the bout on Saturday at the Madison Garden Square in USA.
“Everybody is ready. We’re ready. He’s ready. Everyone will be tuned in for a reason. All I want is a great night for all the fans. When you have a great style fight like this, it’s going to be a short night.
“If someone were to tell me I’d win my first world title at 22 years old at Madison Square Garden, I wouldn’t believe it. It’s huge. It’s happening, and it’s a blessing. We have the opportunity, and this is what we’re doing. Nine weeks in camp. I know ya’ll have seen the pictures. We’re ready, man.” he reiterated.
The 32-year-old boxer noted that, he has everything he needed with the great team behind him, and he is going to get the job done on Saturday.
Commey having won 29 fights with 26 coming by knockout and 2 losses in his 31 bouts will aim to prove his wealth against the Hungarian, Teofimo Lopez in Las Vegas come Saturday.
