‘Give us our mascot monies’ – Angry NPP group to Asenso Boakye

A group calling themselves Elephant Youth Association (Osono) has besieged the residence of Asenso Boakye, at Roman Ridge to protest against the Deputy Minister for allegedly embezzling funds which was given him by the group.

According to the group, the Deputy Chief of Staff has embezzled funds meant for them after they toiled to ensure that Nana Addo wins 2020 elections.

The group is said to be initiators and operators of an Elephant mascot that usually parades campaigns and rally grounds of the NPP prior to 2016 electoral victory.

Leader of the group, Steven Amoh, stated that Asenso Boakye, told the President that he has given the group huge sums of money as compensation for contributing to the party’s victory in the 2016 election..

“Asenso Boakye has denied us all financial assistance from the president, H.E Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo, to us the deputy chief of staff takes money in the name of the group, but has never given us a penny before, this we see as an insult to us as members of our great party, NPP,” the group said.

National Youth Organizer for party, Henry Nana Boakye, known as Nana B intervened to calm nerves and negotiate on behalf of the party and Asenso Baokye.
