Kumasi Asante Kotoko interim coach, Johnson Smith has assured supporters of the club that he will build a formidable team ahead of the 2019/20 league campaign.
Johnson Smith served as an assistant coach to the Kumasi based before he was appointed interim coach following the sacking of the Romanian tactician, Kjetil Zachariassen after their disastrous CAF Confederation Cup campaign.
According to the former Karela United trainer, he will do his outmost best to build a great and formidable side with the quality of players he has at his disposal currently.
In an exclusive interview with the club’s official newspaper, Kotoko Express on Monday, Smith said; “Our training sessions are focused on achieving that. We want to send the signal out that Kotoko is a matured team. Moreover, we want to build an unbeatable team”
He added that the club will be active in the transfer window for few inclusions to beef up certain departments of the team.
“As I said earlier, the players are already very familiar with themselves. But what needs to be done now is a little beef up to a certain department of the team,” Coach Johnson Smith stressed.
