‘Arrest Ghanaians defaming Akufo-Addo’ – NPP man to IGP

A member of the Ashanti Regional Communication team of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Boateng Duncan (Bombay) has charged the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to arrest anyone who complains that times are hard under the Akufo-Addo administration.

His call follows the numerous complains of hardship under the President Akufo-Addo’s administration by majority of Ghanaians.

“As a Ghanaian, it is your duty to promote the image of the government by projecting her works to the international communities to attract investors to come and contribute their quota to the growth and progress of Ghana. Why must a Ghanaian intentionally capture what is fact to be false? Is such a person not a Ghanaian? Is such a person not benefiting from the Government’s achievements? Arrest them all,” Bombay explained.

Bombay in a statement explained that several investors are shying away from investing in Ghana due to the numerous complains of hardship in the country.

“Implementation of flagship programmes by President Akufo-Addo’s government such as Planting for Food and Jobs, NABCO, 1 District 1 Factory and others have removed hardship from Ghana. Ghana is working again under President Akufo-Addo’s government. I always wonder why some Ghanaians are not ready to promote government’s good works to the outside world to attract investors?” he queried.

Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta said during the 2020 Budget presentation stated that Government has directly or indirectly put an amount of GHC 122 trillion (12.2 billion cedis) into the pockets of Ghanaians since 2017 through her major initiatives and social interventions.
