The Ministry for Special Initiative have so far completed 200 Dams as part of the government’s promise to provide dams for villages in the northern part of the country, Finance Minister has said.
Presenting the 2020 Budget statement on the floor of floor of Parliament on Wednesday, Ken Ofori-Atta failed to provide details of the location of the completed dams.
President Nana Akufo-Addo during the 2016 electioneering campaign promised to ensure that the villages in the North get dams to improve upon water supply.
An estimated 560 dams, the Finance Minister hinted will be developed for the various villages adding that 200 have so been completed.
” Construction so far of 300 out of 560 small earth dams in the five northern regions, in fulfilment of the “One Village One Dam” promise…,” he said.
