Akufo-Addo nominates three new judges unto the Supreme Court


The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has nominated three Appeals Court judges unto the Supreme Court.

The three; Justice Mariama Owusu, Justice Lovelace Johnson and Justice Gertrude Tokornoo, have been elevated to the Supreme Court bench from the Court of Appeal.

The judges will replace three respectable three Supreme Court Justices who have either gone on retirement or will soon be retiring from the bench.

They are Justice Akoto Bamfo, Sophia Adinyira and the Chief Justice, Sophia Akufo who is set to retire in December 2019.

Speaker of Parliament, Mika Aaron Oquaye announced the President’s decision on the floor of Parliament on Tuesday.
