Belgium side, Royal Sporting Club (RSC) Anderlecht, will honour ex-Ghana star, Nii Odartey Lamptey as a legend of the club on November 22nd.
The former Ghana and Anderlecht midfielder will be honoured at a specially arranged home fixture against KV Kortrijk at the iconic Constant Vanden Stock Stadium, now Lotto Park Arena with 22,500 capacity, to commemorate his five-year spell with the pro-league side in the 90s.
Nii Odartey served the Royal club from 1990-1995; an incredible five year spell which saw him scoring nine goals from 30 appearances.
The public Affairs Officer of the club, David Steegen in an official letter to Odartey stated that; “we are extremely honoured to invite you to Anderlecht to attend a league game against KV Kortrijk on November 22nd in recognition to honour your service”
“As a former player and a legend of the club, we are happy to celebrate you on the pitch before the game in front of the fans,” he added.
As part of the program, the founder of the Glow Lamp Soccer Academy will have dinner and a VIP drink with Lorenzo Staelens, another club legend before and after the game respectively.
The former Ghana international, said he has been humbled by the news and will honor the invitation.
Nii Odartey Lamptey said he will also take advantage of the opportunity to have a coaching refresher course with the club before visiting Holland-based PSV Eindhoven where he had a short loan spell.
