The founder and leader of the All People’s Congress (APC), Hassan Ayariga is set to lead a mammoth demonstration against the Telecommunication companies in the country over the Communication Service Tax (CST).
The demonstration which comes off from Thursday, November 7, 2019 to Saturday, 9th November, 2019 will be geared towards forcing the Telcos to drop the 9% deduction of the tax.
The demo which is dubbed ‘No Baga Wire’ will feature prominent persons in society including the founder of the APC, Hassan Ayariga.
APC prior to the demonstration issued a warning to the Telcos to halt the CST deduction and refund the monies to the customers.
The CST has been a major issue in the country with the government threatening to deal with the Telcos if they fail to stop the deductions from source.
But the Telcos have served notice that they will halt the deduction on November 26, 2019; this date did not go down with the APC who insist they have to halt the deduction now.
