I won’t turn down an offer to become a ‘King’ – Asiedu Nketia on partnering Mahama for 2020


The General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia has said that he is ever ready to be the running mate of the 2020 flagbearer of his party, John Dramani Mahama.

Speaking on Angel FM in Kumasi, the NDC General Scribe who has been rumoured to be lobbying for the Vice Presidential candidate position of the party said he won’t turn down the offer.

“Who would say no to an offer to become a king; that would even be a disservice to the people because it would mean I don’t want to see the progress of the party”, he said on Kumasi-based Angel FM.

The NDC secretary said he has all the requisite experiences to be the Vice President of Ghana insisting the leadership of the NDC should consider him for the post.

General Mosquito joins the tall list of persons in good standing in the NDC who are rumoured to be lobbying for the running mate position of the party.

Former CEO of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation; Alex Mould, former Education Minister; Prof Jane Nana Opoku Agyemang, Former Finance Minister; Seth Terkper, MP for Asunafo South and former Brong Ahafo Regional Minister; Eric Opoku, and Dr Johnson Asiamah; former Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana are some of the names that have been speculated from which one is expected to land the role.
