The Board Chairman of the Presbyterian Senior High Technical School (PRESEC) in Kwamang in the Sekyere Central District of the Ashanti Region, Dr. Bernard Effah has called on persons who operate the Computerised Selection and School Placement System (CSSPS) to stop posting only students who under-perform in the Basic Education Certificate Education (BECE) to their school.
Dr Effah who was speaking to journalists at the school’s matriculation said that has accounted for the school’s under-performance in recent times.
“The records show that during the Computer Placement, we are given students whose under-perform so we have tasked the teachers to step up their efforts to ensure that the students pass…,” he said.
According to him, this has not discouraged the administrators of the school as they have tasked the teachers to work to ensure that the students pass their WASSCE.
“We have tasked the teachers to ensure that their students pass their examinations, anyone who record a pass rate of less than 50% in his/her subject will have questions to answer…,” he said.
Dr Effah who is also a lecturer at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) added that the school also needs infrastructure appealing to the government to come to their aid.
