Ghana’s ace hiplife musician, Obrafour has called on Ghanaians to stop seeing all persons with dreadlocks as ones who smoke marijuana.
Speaking on Angel 102.9FM’s mid-morning show, Y’adwuma Nie hosted by DJ Ohemaa Woyeyje, he said persons with dreadlocks, popularly called Rasta are not comfortable with the perception that they are deviants and wee smokers.
Obrafour emphasized that he is a committed member of the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) church who is looking forward to the coming of Christ hence the decision not to desecrate his body which he sees as the temple of Christ.
“I’ve never smoked nor drank alcohol throughout my lifetime but the society has painted all people with dreadlocks as marijuana smokers but everything happens for a special purpose,” he said.
He therefore demanded that society stop stereotyping persons with dreadlocks insisting they deserve maximum respect.
Obrafour who has been in the hiplife music for twenty years and preparations are underway to celebrate this great milestone with a concert #PaeMuKaAt20 and also use this celebration to spearhead a foundation Obra Foforɔ [the new life] to support the educational system in the hinterlands across the country with the proceeds of the concert.
