The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Ghana Highways Authority (GHA) has called on motorists using the Aburi-Accra road to blame the recent landslide on the contractor who worked on the road.
Angelfmonlinegh.com reported of a landslide on the Aburi road following continuous rainfall in the eastern part of the capital, Accra.
The landslide caused a closure of the busy highway that links a portion of the Eastern Region to the capital.
The GHA further directed traffic to one side of the dual carriage way before trying to block the rock fall with wire mesh.
This however did not stop the continuous fall of rocks into the main road; a situation which has led to the closure of on e portion of the road.
Commenting on this on Accra-based Adom FM as monitored by Angelfmonlinegh.com, the PRO of GHA said CST Limited, the contractors hired to apply wire mesh did a shoddy job.
This claim of the Ministry has been rejected by the company arguing that their contract was cancelled unlawfully leading them to go to court to seek redress.
But the GHA PRO rejected the allegation claiming they will ensure the contractor faces the necessary sanctions.
