The Police in the Bono Region have arrested 71-year-old woman, Abena Abuyaa and her accomplice, Kwadwo Kintoh, 35 for possessing 89 flat slabs of substance suspected to be Marijuana.
The two suspects were arrested on the Adantia Badu road near Sunyani in the Bono Region after they tried to trade in the banned substance.
According to the officials of the Drug Law Enforcement Unit of the Ghana Police Service, they were on patrol duty on the road and upon a tip off arrested Kintoh who was on motorbike carrying three mini fertilizer sacks containing the substance in a black and brown sellotaped polythene bags.
Kintoh revealed upon interrogation that he was contacted at Badu in the Tain District by one Atta who released the motorbike to make the delivery to Abuyaa who was waiting on the Adantia road for collection.
Superintendent Kwaku Duah, the Bono Regional Crime officer said “Kwadwo Kintoh agreed to lead the police to where the said Atta was but immediately he spotted us, he fled.”
The culprits, Kintoh and Abuyaa, revealed the runaway Atta as their business partner who was only waiting for the substance to transport them to Takoradi.
