The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ghana, Prof Ebenezer Oduro Owusu has thanked God for ‘rescuing’ him from the hands of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Africa Integras, Andrea Pizziconi.
Andrea Pizziconi had in a statement sought to imply that the UG Vice Chancellor attempted to sexually harass her, intimating further that her refusal to give in to his demands caused the failure of the Africa Integras project.
The Legon Vice Chancellor has vehemently denied the allegations.
The businesswoman however claimed later that her post was misunderstood.
“Surely, you are aware of the difference of headlines and the article’s substance, the latter of which accurately reflects my previous statement,” Andrea Pizziconi wrote in a statement.
The claim had been made as part of the debate on the SexforGrades in tertiary institutions in the country.
Reacting to this, Prof. Ebenezer Oduro Owusu said he was highly pleased that the lady who made the allegations had finally retracted her comments.
“The lesson is that we all must be mindful of what we say and never take sides, the other person involved must be given the chance to react too…,” he admonished.
To him, it was his God that intervened in the case; he then added that God placed him in Legon for Ghana’s progress stating further that he will always work to ensure the progress of Legon and Ghana at large.
