The Management of Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ) has called on their students to feel free and come to report lecturers or any staff who sexually harass them.

The call follows recent allegations made by some student that lecturers fail them when they deny them sex.

The report follows the BBC African eye film which revealed how students in the University of Lagos and University of Ghana are harassed sexually by their lecturers.

In a notice posted on campus, management indicated that the institute has norms and regulations against sexual harassment by staff which all must adhere to.

The regulations, the notice indicated are captured in Section 5.3 of the GIJ undergraduates handbook.

As such, the leadership of the institution called on all students who have been abused to report through this email safespaceforstudents@gij.edu.gh for in-depth investigations.
