The Omanhene of Aburi Traditional Area, Otobour Djan Kwesi has commended Angel Broadcasting Network (ABN) for partnering the Birth and Deaths Registry to provide free birth certificates for children.
A subsidiary of the Group, Angel 102.5 FM located in Accra have for some months now been partnering with the registry to provide birth certificates for children below one year.
The registration has so far been carried out in Accra and Mumford in the Central Region.
On 10th October, 2019, the mass registration train stopped at Aburi in the Eastern Region where hundreds were registered and issued with birth certificates.
And the Paramount Chief who was happy with the event could not hide his joy as he openly commended Angel 102.9FM for such a move.
“I am so happy for this exercise and I can’t really thank Angel FM enough for collaborating with the Birth and Death Registry to undertake such a noble exercise, I say thank Angel FM,” he said at a durbar which was organized to receive the registration officials.
The Akuapim South Registrar of Birth and Death Registry, Mrs. Adelaide Cudjoe was also grateful to the station for partnering her institution to make the exercise a success.
“With the mothers too, they came here in their numbers to register their children, because birth certificate is very essential in one’s life…thank you all for your contribution in making this registration a success,” she said.
