The acting Inspector General of Police (IGP), James Oppong Boanu has been confirmed as the substantive IGP, Angelfmonlinegh.com can confirm.
Reports indicated that the Council of State was considering the confirmation of the man who was appointed to take over after the substantive IGP was fired by the President, Nana Akufo-Addo.
The decision of the Council of State has since not been made known to the public.
However, the President during a tour of the Bono Region confirmed that Oppong Boanu was confirmed by the Council of State.
He told the Chief of Dormaa that Oppong Boanu is now the new IGP.
Prior to that, the Ghana Police Service had confirmed his appointment on their Facebook wall.
