Napo not ‘mad’ to force CSE on Ghanaians – KT Hammond

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Adansi Asokwa, Kobina Tahir Hammond has said that the Education Minister, Matthew Opoku Prempeh is not ‘insane’ to root for the implementation of Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) in the country’s schools.

In an interview aired on Angel News on Wednesday Evening, KT Hammond said he was certain the Education Minister had an agenda to ensure that CSE is introduced into Ghanaian schools.

“My nephew NAPO is a sane man, if I get to Accra and NAPO tells me he is the one pushing for the introduction of this CSE, I will never speak to him again…,” he said.

According to KT Hammond, he will not want to have anything to do with anyone who will be interested in implementing CSE into the country as according to him, the country is a very religious one.

“This is a country that belongs to Methodists, Presbyterians and Muslims, they are all kicking against it so why call for the implementation of CSE…?” he queried in the interview.

The Office of the Chief Imam for instance has described CSE as ‘satanic’ and something which goes contrary to the teachings of Islam and the country’s morals.

“We would like to state unequivocally that the Islamic Community does not accept any form of educating minors and pupils on sexuality. In our estimation, such a move is an attempt to hide behind educational reforms to brainwash the pupils with LGBT agenda,” the Chief Imam said in a statement.

Education Minister, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh has also come out to deny that the Ministry wants to implement CSE.

“Documents making rounds as part of an approved manual on Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) is fake and not from Government, there is nothing like that…,” he said.
