A Journalist at Obuasi in the Ashanti Region, Chukwu Joseph received what could be described as a ‘baptism of fire’ when he asked Adansi Asokwa Member of Parliament (MP), Kobina Tahir Hammond to comment on the controversial Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE).
A livid KT Hammond could not comment on the policy which he said he was against without insulting the Journalist for daring to approach him for his opinion on CSE.
“Useless adult (Kwasiapanin)…you journalist must stop the useless things…,” he told the Journalist.
According to the NPP MP, Ghanaian Journalists are found of always asking politicians to address ‘not so important issues’.
“Journalists must be careful about this issue; it is not true; I’m telling you that, you will all see what will happen in Ghana if it turns out to be true, I have intentionally remained calm nowadays” he swore.
He further added that the media is to blame for misinforming the public about the CSE arguing further that even the media in Western Countries do no preach what the country’s media is inviting everyone to discuss.
Even the whites do not teach what the media is preaching about the CSE into that detail; they just brush the surface of the subject matter; so who is that mad man who has drawn those sexually explicit pictures for our kids to learn in Ghana”, he quizzed.
The insults notwithstanding, the Legislator insisted that no one in the NPP or the government will ever support a bad content like CSE.
