NDC not ready to win power in 2020 – Rawlings


Former President, Jerry John Rawlings has said that the main opposition political party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is not ready to win the 2020 elections.

The NDC since losing the 2020 elections have been canvassing to come to power. They elected former President, John Mahama to lead the party into the 2020 polls.

The former leader has since led the charge for the party to defeat the incumbent in the 2020 polls.

He has been crisscrossing the country throwing various shades at the government all in an effort to make the government unpopular in the eyes of Ghanaian electorates.

Members of the NDC have staged various demonstrations with the party’s Members of Parliament (MPs) holding numerous press conferences all as part of efforts to brought to the fore the ills of the Akufo-Addo administration.

All these efforts, former President Rawlings who is also the founder of the NDC said are not enough to win the NDC the 2020 polls.

Speaking at the National Cadres Conference in Kumasi over the weekend, former President Rawlings said the party which he founded is not doing enough to wrestle power from the ruling party.

“NDC is claiming to be aiming towards 2020 and some of you should know that their aim is not really towards 2020 because it’s not easy to wrestle it from these people…,” he said.

The former President wants the NDC to do more if they seriously seek to win the 2020 elections.
